| The Copey Learning Center is a nonprofit educational institution developed by the community. It is being developed and implemented by community members. The center offers English language classes for students of all ages. The learning center is located in Zona de Los Santos in the mountainous area, 2 hours south of SanJosé. Volunteer Position: All positions are volunteer English teaching. Volunteers are responsible for teaching 15-20 hours a week and planning their lessons. Volunteers need to be experienced in EFL / ESL or other subjects, EFL / ESL certification and / or an education degree. Volunteers receive free rooms and board at the local family's home. The rooms and board are equipped with basic facilities such as residential, 3 meals a day, and laundry. Because we are a non-profit organization with a rooted locality, we can not provide salaries and incentives to volunteers. By living with local families, volunteers become part of the community, giving them the opportunity to experience Costa Rica's daily habits and lifestyle, learn Spanish and participate in cultural exchanges. The main role is to teach English, but there are also opportunities to develop other projects. In the past, our volunteers built community gardens, taught dance classes and formed a children's choir. Location: Our community is located in the beautiful Zona de Los Santos (Costa Rica), about two hours south of San Jose (Capitol), in the heart of the coffee growing area of Costa Rica. We are surrounded by beautiful mountain country forest parks, the view of the most beautiful birds in the world. WHEN: We are interviewing candidates smoothly. All applicants are expected to stay for a minimum of 3 months, but volunteers with a longer stay (6 months or longer) will take precedence. We are currently looking for a lot of volunteers starting in May 2018 Eligibility Required: * native speaker. Spanish knowledge. * A bachelor's or master's degree in teaching (or related) and / or ESL / EFL certification and / or English language instruction and English language instruction for one year or more. * Education and employment experience for children and adolescents. * Integration with the community I want to live with my local host family. * Be professional, flexible and independent. * Commitment to service and volunteerism. * Computer-friendly Internet, Facebook, etc. available Volunteer Ring: Because we are rooted in our community, volunteers are not charged a fee and can not provide a salary or health insurance.
